In February 1997, Johnnic purchased a piece of land, which is now Atlantic Beach Golf Estate. When land development began, developers were careful not to destroy the protected fauna and flora - mostly the fynbos in the area. Instead, developers transported those plants that would be moved and left the rest as it was. Certain archaeological finds halted the construction of a building or two and the involvement of the right people was sought so as not to destroy these historical finds.
